1. These terms
By using this website or submitting an enquiry, you acknowledge the website terms, disclaimer and privacy policy. By accepting a quote, approving work or booking a job, you agree to these terms together with any specific terms in your written quote.
2. Quotes and estimates
Online calculator figures and verbal indications are guides only. A binding price exists only when we issue a written quote, and only for the scope described in it. A quote is valid for 30 days from its date unless stated otherwise.
3. Scope and variations
We'll do the work described in the accepted quote. If extra work, safety issues or compliance matters come up — for example hidden wiring, non-compliant existing work, switchboard faults or restricted access — we'll explain them and get your approval in writing before doing the extra work, unless immediate action is needed to make the installation safe.
4. Existing installations
We're responsible for the work we carry out. We aren't responsible for the condition of existing wiring, previous workmanship, concealed defects, overloaded circuits or unsafe conditions we didn't create — but where we find them, we'll tell you and recommend appropriate action.
5. Fault finding
Fault finding is investigative. The cause may not be visible at booking and may need testing, isolation, access or part replacement. A first attendance doesn't guarantee the fault can be fully resolved on the first visit; where further work or parts are needed, we'll explain the findings and next steps before continuing.
6. Compliance and documentation
We carry out electrical work in line with the applicable electrical safety laws, Australian Standards, Western Australian requirements and network/operator requirements for the scope of work. Where required by law, we lodge or provide statutory notices with the relevant network operator or Building and Energy, and provide Electrical Safety Certificates to the person for whom the work was carried out, in accordance with applicable requirements. The testing, certification and handover documentation provided depends on the type and scope of work and what the regulations require.
7. Warranty
We stand behind our workmanship. Any workmanship warranty offered will be set out in the applicable quote, invoice or handover documentation. Where a warranty against defects is provided, it will be supplied with the wording and information required under Australian Consumer Law. Products, fittings and appliances carry the manufacturer's own warranty, subject to their terms. Nothing in this clause limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
8. Payment
Payment is due on completion of the work, or on the terms agreed in your quote or invoice — which in some cases may be up to 30 days from the invoice date. Where different terms apply to your job, they'll be set out in your written quote or invoice.
9. Liability
We're responsible for loss caused by our own failure to take reasonable care. To the extent permitted by law, we aren't liable for loss arising from the condition of an existing installation we didn't create. To the extent permitted by law, E-LEC Electrical is not responsible for loss caused by incomplete, inaccurate or misleading information supplied by the client, where E-LEC Electrical reasonably relied on that information and the loss could not reasonably have been avoided. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited under the Australian Consumer Law.
10. Document use
Certificates, notices, test records, handover packs, photos and manuals we supply relate to the specific client, property and scope of work. They must not be copied, altered, reused, misrepresented or relied on for other properties, other works, or work done by others.
